Interview with Shaw TV

On the 26th, Ralph, Minna, Mr. Howe and I got interviewed by Shaw TV. The cameraman's name was Zach and the interviewer's name was Bianca. Mr. Howe had told us about the interview last week and we were happy to do it because it was about sustainability and what we were doing at school.

We missed most of P.E. class for the interview. Ralph, Minna and I were able to go onto the roof of the school for the first time ever, to see the solar panels. I didn't know that the solar panels were so big and they were the standard size solar panels for average homes. It was really fun walking on the roof because I knew that other students wouldn't be able to be up there. Mr. Howe was also cautious of us not stepping too close to the edge of the roof. We went up there in the beginning of 2nd period just to check it out and also so we knew what to talk about.

At about 11:30, we met upstairs at the door that lead to the roof and waited for Mr. Howe. We all introduced ourselves and talked a little bit about what we were doing and stuff like that. When we got on the roof, we started our interviews and for the camera, we had to talk but then stop after a while to switch angles and stuff. So we talked about the same thing twice most of the time for the camera and all that stuff.

After that, we had individual interviews, all this taking place on the roof. I learned a lot about the solar panels, and what happened to heat up the water and such. It was really interesting and it was fun to be up on the rooftop.

We finished out interviews and we got downstairs. We showed Zach and Bianca the meter and the picture of a sustainable house that's in front of the Cafeteria doors. When we were there earlier, the meter showed that the water was boiled to 170 degrees Fahrenheit. We were down there again about an hour later we saw that to show the two people and it had rose to about 280 degrees Fahrenheit. It was really cool to see that it had rose so much in only about an hour.

That was pretty much the end of our interview and stuff with the two so we said our goodbyes and headed off to P.E.
It was really fun to go on the roof. Oh, and we saw bones up there from the birds and stuff. It was kind of gross but cool at the same time.
I hope I'll be able to go on the roof again.
